This is a thankful image drawn from some awestruck viewing of images from space.
I hope you find something beautiful in it, too. The painting, like most of mine, is six feet tall.
So the painting itself has an active presence for the viewer, seeing one thing from far away
and something quite more intimate up close. The spiky figure with the four arms represents
God’s creative Spirit, a frequent element in my paintings. I learned in prayer years ago this something that I took as God suggesting that I do this, play with this icon, to include Them
rather than going crazy trying to trap Them in some all too inadequate personal cartoon.
I have, since that seemingly small recommendation found myself much more authentic as a
painter, solving aesthetic problems but not holding too firm a grip on the mystery.
